November is a big month on the farm!
Before the Rains
As the dry season ends, our 4,090 avocado trees on the Water for Africa Farm have flourished under irrigation but there’s nothing like the first rains! They unlock oxygen in the soil, release minerals, and awaken the microorganisms that nourish the roots. It’s nature’s way of saying, “the growing season has begun.”
Before those rains arrive, we’re preparing organic compost made from local produce to feed and strengthen every tree for healthy growth and an abundant yield.
This is our long-term sustainable in-country plan. As the trees mature, the harvest will increase and every profit will go towards ensuring clean water continues to flow for years to come.
