Itipingi Village is located in the Njombe District in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania. The village has a population of 807 people. This is predominantly a farming region where families grow their own food, and those who are more fortunate may own a few goats or cows. Life is difficult, and daily survival is often the main focus.

We spoke with a local resident, Mrs. Natalia Ngumbi, aged 73. She has lived in this village her whole life. From the age of six, her daily chore was to help collect the water. They would walk 2 kilometres to a contaminated stagnant water pool, this water would disappear in the dry season and the journey was longer. She recalled how she felt unsafe, and how the girls were often attacked. Back then, the wild animals were still roaming the area and as a young girl she witnessed someone getting attacked and killed by a lion as they carried water. Still today, the water they collect is filled with sickness and disease like typhoid and many are still suffering.

Thanks to your incredible sponsorship, everything changed in August 2026 when a borehole was successfully drilled in this community. The locals gathered together to witness their first sight of clean water flowing. The moment was filled with joy, gratitude, and deep relief.

During the dedication service, the gospel was shared and the community listened intently. Many hearts were moved, and 21 people accepted Jesus as their Lord.
